Great Ocean Road
Melbourne was good to us, free poker tournaments, cheap pizza and nachos, great people, but it was time to move on in our journey. We got in touch with an Australian friend of ours whom we met backpacking in Edmonton around halloween last year, Ana. Ana said that we
would be more then welcome to stay at her place if we decided to go to Adelaide, so off to Adelaide we went. We had been told by countless people that the Great Ocean Road was "great" so we(Matt, Jordan and Bob) booked a 3 day tour. The GOR
is a section of highway that runs for about 200km along the South coast after Melbourne. And as you can tell from the pictures, it's one of the most scenic drives in the world. The 12 Apostles, London Bridge, koalas, and a crazy Aussie tour guide named Peter. We finished the GOR in a
day and a half then made our way into the Grampian mountain range for some hikeing and kangaroo dodging in our bus. After going a month and only seeing roos in zoos, we were having a hard time making our way around without picking them off the highways.
Coming from the Rockies, the Grampians looked like baby mountains, but the views from the top made up for their puny stature. We spent the night in a cabin in the middle of the mountains, had an Aussie BBQ, sang songs around the fire and watched the most
amazing stars I've ever seen! Our tour seemed to end as quickly as it began in a little city by the name of Ballarat and from there we hoped on the overnight bus to Adelaide for 8 hours of drug induced slumber. Ahhh Gravol...

Wow!
This is the trip of a lifetime, so be sure to remember every detail. You'll be telling your kids about this one day. You've been good at posting frequent updates to keep the rest of us informed.
Jord, did I ever tell you about my band trip to Drayton Valley? It was cool back then but it's so unexciting now given what you're doing. :-)
Keep traveling and keep safe. Don't run over any 'roos. If you do, I hear they're good in stew.
Nice jump, Jord. Haven't gained too much weight yet, obviously. ;-)

Yo guys, guess who I saw out in Perth last night . . . that wierd kid who won the Backpacker Swimsuit contest in Melbourne at Bev & Mike's. He was chattin' up this girl who looked like she'd rather be bathing in acid.

Hey Jordan ("Mate")
Good to read that you and your friends are well and enjoying the sights.
Your parents keep us informed from time to time on how you are doing. I understand you are now in New Zealand.
Keep safe. Have a great time.
Lindsay and Chelsea are touring the Greek Islands at this time and having a blast! They travel home early next week.
You have my prayers for God's protection and provision.
Stay close to Him.
